Aphrodisiacs are herbs, plants, certain foods and substances from animals, fish and other species that cause arousal and pleasure of the intimate senses.

Sensual stimulation and fertility as well as impotence potions have been experimented with and used by ancient cultures for thousands of years. Erotic sexual rites and rituals were accompanied by concoctions made by magicians and knowledge seekers.

Some aphrodisiacs arouse different areas of the body. Not all aphrodisiacs are gender specific. However, there are some that arouse women more, like ginger. And some that arouse men, like ginseng.
